Author: Stephen Brewood

Few things have shaken over the world as profoundly as internet. It has completely revolutionized the way business is conducted across the globe. It has provided common public access to huge array of information not available to it earlier and thus become an important determinant in our sale/purchase decisions.

Land investment decisions are no exception to it. There has been a significant rise in number of people using internet as a medium for making there land investment decisions. According to a study conducted by the National Association of Realtors in 2005, the use of the Internet to search for land for sale has risen from 2% in 1995 to 77% in 2005.

So what factors are driving this trend

Huge rise in percentage of people having access to internet allover the world

Vast improvements in search engine technology in past few years making it possible for a common public to achieve relevant results for there search queries

Increase in the number of agents with websites by over 129%, leaving those without a website far behind the pack

Budding of overseas land investments firm dependent which are highly dependent on internet to reach there targeted customer segment

Internet is thus becoming a very prominent concern for land for sale companies while firming up there marketing strategies.

Quality of websites and consequent online advertising and SEO efforts are becoming increasingly important for real estate companies to maximize there sales results and achieve better returns for there advertising efforts. In 2006, 56% of agents spent more than $1,000 on technology and 30% spent $2,000 or more. As so many agents are becoming technologically savvy, it is becoming a necessity to market online to level the playing field and achieve a reasonable share of voice.

Internet is not only helping land for sale companies to appeal to the millions of prospective buyers by becoming there first point of contact with the firm but also enabling them to get a better understanding of demographic, geographical and behavioral profile of there targeted audience helping them fine tune there advertising efforts

Internet has thus become most effective method of gaining new business for land for sale firms and its importance is only going to increase in foreseeable future.
